Internships
We are currently offering internships in both our Operations and Marketing and Business Development teams.
Operations - Internship
Working within the Operations team you will be working on a number of projects as a Livecom Assistant.
Duties could include, but are by no means limited to the following:
- Booking venues, taxis and flights
- Attending internal meetings, writing and typing up minutes
• Answering and forwarding incoming calls
- Researching and collating of relevant material when required
- Liaising with suppliers and ushers; contracting freelance staff and live artistes;
- Creating sound bites and stings for events, and Powerpoint presentations for clients
- Assisting the LiveCom team with administration and practical tasks as required
Work will be largely office-based but students may also be required to work on events off-site. Overtime is not unusual, therefore, flexibility and enthusiasm is vital.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be hard working, focussed and with plenty of common sense, initiative and ideas. Experience in events is not essential, but we do need to see evidence of your passion within the field.
Marketing Internship
Working as support for both the Marketing Director and China Account Director, you will have the opportunity to support and assist with the implementation of the company’s marketing and communications strategy; and, more specifically, support a China-related marketing strategy which will see the company embark on an exciting new phase of business.
Roles can include:
- Aiding external company-based marketing and communication such as the website, ongoing and new e-campaigns, and supporting the business development process for both the UK and China strategy.
- Pre-event marketing, branding, copywriting of invitations and business messages, with a focus on how business communication is articulated.
- Marketing presentation and collateral development.
- Database development and cleansing.
- Business opportunity & competitor research.
Requirements
Candidates with a marketing degree, equivalent qualification and/or commercial marketing experience would be advantageous. In addition, you must be hard working, focussed, and with plenty of common sense, initiative and ideas.
Other information
Our interns are treated as full-time workers, and are therefore expected to maintain the same high standards and conduct the same behaviour as all UpStage employees. The work here is fast-paced, exciting and rewarding and the demands are high. LiveCom Assistants and Marketing Executives need to work quickly, be on the ball, thorough and confident. This is not a placement for the faint-hearted!
Placements at UpStage provide the student with tangible and varied experience, essential in the eyes of a future employer. Working within a small team means you get out of the placement what you put in, and therefore have a real opportunity to show off your potential.
Internship period: Internships are for a minimum of six weeks; full terms are agreed at the point of interview.
Working hours: 9.30am – 6pm
Dress code: Casual in the office, unless meeting clients or attending external meetings, in which case appropriate dress is expected (you will be advised on this at the time).
