Visionary programmes for your most valuable assets

Do you have a vision statement? Or a mission statement? Does it sit on your company website and do . . . well, nothing very much? You’re not alone. Creating a mission statement is often seen as an end in itself – but we see it as the start of an ongoing dialogue with your team; a chance to get your corporate values into their DNA. We’re experts at bringing your vision to life – and we’re doing it for companies like leading law firm Lawrence Graham, one of the Big Four accountants, technology giant Oracle and many, many more.

A major Big Four firm had developed a new vision and values document which was articulated to everyone in the firm. When they wanted to take this document, “Realising Our Vision”, and articulate it to the new graduate intake, they knew that we were the ones to call.

Their primary objective was to create a fully interactive experience that engaged both the hearts and minds of the 200 graduates, allowing them to experience the corporate culture, understand the vision and live the characteristics; all wrapped up in the theme of ‘Play Your Part’. The stage celebrated the inauguration of a working relationship between the firm and its graduates and gave the then Chairman the opportunity to interact with the future of his company. The National Graduate day turned out to be a milestone event – a bold, interesting and effective way of embedding the firm’s culture into the DNA of new recruits.

But it isn’t just the new recruits who need to connect with your vision and values, and sometimes you can use an event you already do – like a staff party – to make that connection. A truly great party can transform the way that people feel about where they work. Whilst a large amount of our work is about helping firms bring their brands to life for their clients and prospects, we also do a lot of work around helping them to bring their employee brand to life – and we don’t always need pink and white bunting to do it! Confused? Read on . . .

The annual LG (Lawrence Graham) staff ball has always attracted a lively crowd, but we decided to shake things up a bit more. The scene was a 1950s graduation ball at an All-American high school, and the Hilton Park Lane had been transformed into a sea of pink and white streamers.

But it was after dinner that the fun really started. Towards the end of a spectacular dance routine from our special guest jive troupe, the gasps of recognition began. “That looks
like . . .”, “Isn’t that . . ?” The gasps changed to whoops as the audience realised that some members of the troupe are friends and colleagues from the firm! Unbeknownst to anyone, we had secretly trained our very own troupe of LG dancers, who lit up the dance floor in a display of terpsichorean brilliance that the firm is still talking about.

Year on year, it’s exciting innovations, clever marketing and superb delivery that has seen attendance at LG’s event rise from about 350 people to over 600 in just three years.
Whether we’re drawing on our theatrical skills to draw out the best in your people, or creating a party that’s more than a party, UpStage brings your vision and values to life.
